John Cooper Clark live album Mastering

Post punk legend John Cooper Clark's manager Phil Jones commissioned engineers at Inch Studio Manchester to mix and master highlights from 2013 tours in the UK to make a live album. The project was a pleasure to work on and will be available in the UK and USA in the coming year,

Phil Jones recorded the content using a modest Zoom H4n, engineers at Inch Studio Manchester made improvements using Protools to denoise, compress, brighten & format for consumer media including DDP for CD and meta tagging for digital download. Phil Jones in known in Manchester for promoting & even tour managing acts like The Smiths, Durutti Column, Sly and the Family Stone, Yargo and Josephene Onyama.

John Cooper Clark facts:

In 1978 JCC signed a major album deal with CBS Records. His records with the Invisible Girls, produced by Martin Hannett, are acknowledged as masterpieces. The unique fusions of JCC’s poems and The Invisible Girls’ highly original music, created influential records still name checked by people as diverse as Alex Turner, Plan B, Jarvis Cocker and Steve Coogan.
He also released a massive collection of his poetry and words “Ten Years In An Open Necked Shirt”, which became the bestselling poetry book of the1980s, and is reprinted every few years.
